Biographical Info

Pastor Farnsworth is now retired from Immanuel Lutheran Church, after 22 years of dedicated service here. He retired at the end of December 2021. A celebration was held in his honor on Sunday, January 9th, with a celebration luncheon afterwards in the gym.
Heavenly Father, today we are especially giving You all thanks and praise for the ministry of Your Word and Sacraments over the past 22 years by Pastor Farnsworth. Your Word, Lord is a lamp unto our feet and a light upon our path and Pastor Farnsworth has been a faithful servant of You in bringing to our hearing the gracious Good News of the Gospel. In serving You, Lord, Pastor Farnsworth has served this congregation well; all to Your glory. Thank You Lord for Pastor Farnsworth and his family and for all the blessings he has given us. Continue to be with him in his retirement; bless him with good health and let him enjoy the fruits of his labors.

Pastor Farnsworth spent most of his life in Utica, Michigan.
He received his B.A. degree in Religious Education from Michigan Christian College and his M.A. (Master of Divinity) from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN.
He spent one year as a pastoral intern in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota before accepting a call to his home church, Trinity Lutheran, in Utica. He served there as Associate Pastor for six years prior to accepting the call to become Pastor at Immanuel in August of 1998.
Pastor and his wife Tammie have six children and nine grandchildren.
