Dear Friends in Christ,
In the midst of these uncertain days and the rapidly changing world, some things remain unchanged. Our Lord is still the provider of all we need to support this body and life. We each now walk a balance between our own fears of what will happen to us and our families and our sanctified response to our Lord’s grace as expressed in our support of Immanuel Lutheran Church & School.
When it comes to the practice of stewardship, we pray that the challenges may give way to changes which will bring about growth in the way we view—and share— the resources entrusted to us. Things have become difficult and the financial situation of our church is no exception. We are operating on a very thin margin, and have very little in reserves. Our ministries still continue to have financial needs. Personnel expenses, including payroll and benefits, mortgage payments, insurance payments, utility payments, and maintenance expenses are still very real.
We resumed in-person worship, however not everyone is able to attend church. We must therefore heed the advice of Lutheran Church Extension Fund that: “One’s offering should correlate to the gifts entrusted to them, not to one’s worship attendance.”

No matter what our circumstances, what a comfort to know that our Lord promises in His Word, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” [Hebrews 13:5]. While the days ahead may seem uncertain to us, they will bring no surprises for our Lord, and He holds us in His almighty hands. We are in this together. And our Lord is with us!
